I found the twitter discussion to be quite interesting. While I've been using twitter for years, I've never used it for a class before. I'm generally someone who doesn't participate in a classroom because I'm pretty shy. The twitter discussions were easier for me because it allowed me to interact with my classmates without directly talking to them. I definitely prefer the blackboard discussion and twitter discussions over in person discussion however all three modes of discussion have its pros and cons. In-class discussions can be daunting for those like myself who are shy. In-class discussions sometimes move so fast because of the limited time in the classroom and this leads for some students not being able to give their opinion. However, it allows for better and faster clarification of the material. Social networking sites have become such a big part of the daily lives of so many people especially since they can be used for corporate purposes in addition to personal purposes. It goes without say that all social networking sites have its positives and negatives. For the purpose of this assignment, I visited Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Tumblr. The main use of social networking is to communicate and engage with other users and media. Social networking has become such an important part to the daily lives of so many people. Books have always been a big part of my life growing up. I always found myself devouring a book after another, spending weekend afternoons at the local library and hiding under my blanket with a flashlight to read when everyone else in my house was asleep. Reading allowed me to experience the lives of characters living in worlds much similar to mine as well as drastically different. Books always have and always will fuel my imagination.
